We have some pirate loving guys here so for school we’ve been having some fun with Pirates.
We’ve made lots of piratey things. We’ve had lots of fun and read lots of good books and had some tasty pirate snacks.
digging for buried treasure and ship building
The completed ship was enjoyed by everyone….big to little. The Pringles can turned cannon was a huge hit. They enjoyed shooting the ping pong balls out into the “ocean”.
I made some pirate printables for matching, counting, size sorting, ordering by size. I made some pirate figures that I put magnets on so we could play with them on our magnetic dry erase boards. We used them to work on positional works (next to, in front of etc) , this has been a good and fun way to help Aaron with these words. The boys also enjoyed drawing scenes and making up stories for them.
making pirate cupcakes with a hidden treasure
( a chocolate gold coin, under the “x” cupcake)
some pirate scallywag faces
( Aaron didn’t want his picture taken and kept hiding behind his napkin)
We enjoyed several fun books, our favorites were: Pirates Don’t Change Diapers and several of the Pete the Pirate Adventures
